Assemble a source pack for a decision
Perplexity gathers a small set of sources for a decision you have to make, and labels what each source can prove.
Six sources, each with what it can and cannot support, ready to read in one sitting.
- 1
State the decision
Write the choice, not the topic. “Which queue owns billing bugs” is a decision. “Billing” is not.
- 2
Cut to six
If the pack is longer, drop the news items first.
- 3
Read two in full
Skim is not the case. Read the two sources that claim to hold the deciding fact.
The prompt to paste
I have to decide: [decision, one sentence]. Build a source pack of at most six items I can read today. Prefer primary pages: docs, filings, papers, and the vendor's own changelog. News is allowed only when the primary page is missing. For each source: - Title and link - What claim it can support - What it cannot support - Why it is in the pack End with the single fact that would change my decision, and whether any source in the pack contains it. Do not recommend which way I should decide.
A pack is not a verdict. The last line should stay unanswered if the sources do not contain it.
