Brief me on what changed overnight
A standing Grok prompt that turns overnight news in your lane into a one-page brief with sources you can open.
Five items worth a decision this week, one item to ignore, and three questions for a colleague.
- 1
Fill the brackets
Replace the industry and the customer with the ones you actually serve. Leave the rest of the prompt alone.
- 2
Run it in Grok
Ask for sources you can open. Drop any item that arrives without one.
- 3
Keep one question
Send a single question from the brief to the person who owns the decision. Do not forward the whole page.
The prompt to paste
Brief me before I start work. My lane is [industry or product]. The people who pay us are [customer]. Look at what changed in the last day. I care about developments that would change a decision I might make this week. Return: 1. Five items. Each needs a headline, why it matters to us, and a source I can open. 2. One item I should ignore, and why the headline overstates it. 3. Three questions I should ask a colleague before acting. If you cannot find a source, say so. Do not invent numbers, quotes, or announcements.
A fluent brief can still be stale. Open two of the sources before you repeat a claim.
