Track competitor pricing changes weekly

ChatGPT monitors three competitor pricing pages and reports what changed, with screenshots if public.

·Research·18 min·Working

A weekly brief: what moved, what stayed the same, and the pricing pattern you should watch.

  1. 1

    Pick three real competitors

Use the companies whose pricing you actually compare in sales calls. Industry lists are not the point.

  2. 2

    Save each week's report

Paste the previous report in the prompt so the agent can identify what changed, not just what is.

  3. 3

    Act on the pattern

The observation line is the one you take to a pricing or positioning conversation.

The prompt to paste

Monitor competitor pricing for changes this week. I will give you three competitor names and their pricing page URLs.

Competitors:
[Company A: URL]
[Company B: URL]
[Company C: URL]

Last week's snapshot (if this is not the first run):
[paste previous report]

For each competitor return:
- Current pricing structure in one sentence
- What changed since last week, or "no change"
- The positioning or target customer implied by the tiers
- One thing their pricing hides (seats, usage limits, add-ons)

Then add a single observation: the pricing pattern all three share, or the gap one has left open. Do not estimate revenue. Do not invent customer counts. If a page is paywalled or uses dynamic quotes, say so.

A price change is not an opportunity until you know what customer it is for.
