Write the follow-up while the call is fresh

Turn rough call notes into a follow-up the other person can answer, with the open questions still visible.

·Sales·12 min·Starter

A short email: what you heard, what you will do, and what you need from them.

  1. 1

    Dump the notes

Paste what you actually wrote, including fragments. Do not clean them into a story first.

  2. 2

    Check the promises

Delete any commitment the draft added. Leave only what you are willing to do this week.

  3. 3

    Send it the same day

The case is the follow-up, not a sequence. One email, then stop.

The prompt to paste

Write a follow-up email from my notes on a call with [name, role, company].

Notes:
[paste rough notes]

Rules:
- Open with the one outcome they said they wanted.
- List what I agreed to do, and what they agreed to do, as separate lines.
- Ask at most two questions. They should be answerable in a reply.
- Do not invent budget, timeline, or a next meeting if the notes do not contain them.
- Keep it under 160 words. Plain sentences. No slogan.

If the notes contradict each other, ask me which version to keep instead of guessing.

If the notes never mentioned a price, the email should not introduce one.
