Write the weekly investor update

Claude drafts a weekly investor update from your notes: progress, blockers, and the ask.

·Writing·20 min·Starter

A short update an investor can read in two minutes, with real progress and honest blockers.

  1. 1

    Paste the raw notes

Include the metrics that went down. An update that only reports wins is not trustworthy.

  2. 2

    Remove unconfirmed lines

If the draft added progress that is not in your notes, delete it. Do not smooth it over.

  3. 3

Send it the same day every week

Consistency is the point. Late updates train investors to ignore them.

The prompt to paste

Write a weekly investor update from my notes. The audience is people who gave us money and expect the truth.

Notes:
[paste metrics, wins, blockers, and fragments from the week]

Format:
- Headline: the single most important thing this week, in one sentence
- Metrics: revenue, active users, or the two numbers we agreed to track (no invented metrics)
- Shipped: what customers can now use
- Blocked: real blockers with the owner if known, or "unclear" if it is
- Next week: the three things we will ship or decide
- Ask: what we need from this investor, or "none this week"

Under 300 words. No hype. If a metric went backward, show it. Do not invent progress, customer names, or close dates. If the notes are ambiguous, mark the line "unconfirmed" instead of guessing.

Do not mention a customer by name unless they agreed to be referenced. The investor may talk.
