Write the status update from this week's work

ChatGPT turns tickets and notes into a status update a teammate can skim: done, blocked, and next.

·Writing·10 min·Starter

A short update with finished work, real blockers, and what you will do next.

  1. 1

    Paste the scraps

Include what stalled. A status made of wins is a different document.

  2. 2

    Cut Next to three

If the draft offers more, keep the three you will actually touch.

  3. 3

    Send the update

Put it where the team already looks. Do not add a paragraph after the draft.

The prompt to paste

Write a status update from the notes below. The reader is my team. They already know the project.

Notes:
[tickets, fragments, what shipped, what did not]

Return three short sections:
- Done: work that is finished or in someone else's hands. No partials.
- Blocked: each blocker in one clause, and who it is waiting on if the notes say.
- Next: at most three things I will do. Not themes.

Under 180 words. No greeting, no sign-off, no morale line. Do not invent progress, dates, or owners. If a note is ambiguous, leave it out and list it under Ask me.

In progress is not Done. If it is not finished, it does not go in that section.
